Currently our order process is very informal.
You can use this webpage to order merchandise. We process all orders manually, to verify your contact information, and to verify availability of your glove and tool choices. (Sometimes both we and our supplier are temporarily out of a particular item.) We also calculate total costs, with discounts for volume purchases, and shipping, based on the total weight and the overall size of your shipment.
Once we've verified availability of everything, we'll directly contact you to arrange payment.
Please note, as a small business, we do not process orders, including backorders, until we have received payment and verified your shipping information.

KEVLAR GLOVE WITH A LEATHER FACE
The Glove is normally worn on the hand that is holding the item being carved. The whole glove is Kevlar, even under the leather. There is a leather overlay on the front of the hand surface as shown in the picture. The yellow Kevlar will help prevent a knife or gouge from cutting you. The leather helps prevent something from going in between the weave of the Kevlar and cutting you. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL NOT EVER BE CUT. But I have seen severe cuts on the leather without cutting through the Kevlar.
Please note: Over time the leather can be cut and will lose its protective capability. When the leather has been cut through it is time to replace the glove with a new one.

There are 25 different Dockyard tools. In this section you may purchase individual tools without purchasing entire sets. You may buy any quantity of tools you like. You will receive a $1.00 per tool quantity discount on each tool for orders of 5 or more Dockyard tools. This discount is only for the Dockyard Singles section.
The Dockyard tools all have the same handle. The Cherry wood handle is approx. 4 inches long and is hexagon design. The overall length of the tools is about 5 and ½ inches. These tools are great for detail work. They also work well for all kinds of carving because of the small size and varied tool shapes. All tools are shipped with a short piece of urethane tubing over the cutting end to protect the tool while shipping and until you decide how you will store these small tools.
The tools are sharp when they leave the factory.
The Dockyard micro carving tools are made in the USA.

The Stubai tools are made in Fulpmes, Austria. They have always made a great tool, and with the dwindling tool supply of USA tools, I have added my first non-'USA made' tool to my inventory.
Stubai makes a complete line of full-size tools; however, I am only carrying the palm-size tools, which are all 'straight' (i.e., 'not bent').
Stubai makes a few 'bent' tools, which I may add to The Carving Glove Guy's inventory at some point in the future.

IMPORTANCE OF SHARPENING CARVING TOOLS
New carving tools will be sharp and will cleanly and nicely cut wood.
Over time and with use, a carving tool will lose its sharp edge and to perform at its best will require sharpening.
Different carving tools require different tools for proper sharpening. The Carving Glove Guy™ offers two type of sharpening strops. The John Dunkle Strop will sharpen knives and all kinds of gouges and V tools. The Dockyard Sharpening strop can be used to sharpen all of the Dockyard Micro carving tools.These
sharpening strops are to be used to remove burs in the sharp edge and to hone cutting edge of gouges.

The Dockyard tools are not warranted against breakage or chipping. This is normally caused by prying with the tool. With tools as small as these tools they are not warranted for breaking. There are some heat treating problems that can arise on the very small tools, but it is rare and will be dealt with on an individual basis.

The DOCKYARD SHARPENING STROP
The Dockyard Sharpening Strop is guaranteed against any problems with the wood. If the wood strop cracks or breaks, the sharpening strop will be replaced at no cost to the buyer. The strop is a product of The Carving Glove Guy™ and that is my guarantee. If you have any problem with the compound please contact me. I need the feedback, and need to know if anything is wrong with the compounds. Also, if there are problems I will replace it at no cost to the buyer.

DRAKE TOOLS
The Drake tools have a lifetime warranty for manufacturing defects and satisfaction, including handle or blade breakage. Any tool that does not meet the buyers expectations will be replaced at no cost to them. In addition, all tools carry a lifetime satisfaction guarantee.

ITEMS PURCHASED FROM THE CARVING GLOVE GUY™
If you have a problem with anything I sell I will normally just replace the item and deal with the manufacture myself. In extremely rare circumstances, I may need the original item returned; I will pay for this. Sometimes I might also ask for a series of closeup digital pictures of the defective items, so that I can communicate the nature of the problem(s) to the manufacturer.
